6th SOS Realignment & 6th SOAMXS Activation

Patrick Wnetrzak, 492nd Special Operations Wing commander, speaks at a ceremony that simultaneously realigned the 6th Special Operations Squadron and activated the 6th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron under the 492nd SOW, July 9, 2024, at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. The 492nd SOW will be an Air Force Special Operations Command power projection wing, encompassing all AFSOC’s mission sets: precision strike; specialized air mobility; Special Operations Forces Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR); and SOF air-to-ground integration.
