U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. Christoffer Tidwell (right) takes the guidon from Col. Jeremy Bergin, 27th Special Operations Wing commander, during the 6th Special Operations Squadron realignment ceremony, July 9, 2024, at Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico. The simultaneous reassignment of the 6th SOS and activation of the 6th Special Operations Aircraft Maintenance Squadron are two of several Air Force Special Operations Command squadron reassignments associated with a broader initiative by AFSOC to transform the 492nd Special Operations Wing into a power projection wing.
