Any person requesting access to Hurlburt Field, to include active duty sponsored guests, will need to present a Real ID beginning May 7, 2025.

To determine if a driver's license is Real ID compliant, look for a star in the upper right-hand corner of the ID.

If a visitor does not have a Real ID, a combination of a non-compliant driver's license and another identification card, such as a Transportation Worker's ID Card (TWIC), can be used.

Other acceptable IDs for base access include:

  • DOD common access cards
  • DOD uniformed services ID cards– military retiree or dependent IDs
  • Local DOD access cards and passes – i.e. a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) cards or visitor passes
  • Real ID-compliant driver’s licenses, enhanced driver’s licenses, or nondriver’s identification cards issued by a state, territory, possession or the District of Columbia
  • U.S. or foreign passport or passport cards
  • Transportation Worker ID cards
  • Veteran’s Health ID cards
  • Federal personal identity verification cards
  • Non-federal PIV-interoperable cards

Florida residents requesting access to the Gator Lakes golf course will also need to have a Real ID to be granted a Hurlburt Field Golf Affidavit.

Visitors requesting access without Real ID-compliant credentials or an acceptable alternative will be denied unescorted access to Hurlburt Field.
